Hundreds from New Mexico OK’d as medical marijuana users

New Mexico in 2007 became the 12th state to approve the medical use of cannabis. But it has taken a while for the program to get off the ground.
The authorized marijuana growers, are restricted to having 95 mature plants at a given time. There are currently 5 authorized growers and 21 applications are pending.

New Mexico Approves Four New Medical Marijuana Producers

After months during which New Mexico’s single non-profit producer of medical marijuana was unable to keep a consistent supply of medical cannabis, Department of Health Secretary Alfredo Vigil announced Monday that the state is licensing an additional four producers, enough, the department hopes, to supply the state’s nearly 800 active pot patients.
